 Make
sure your 10-year old understands the basic stair
building terms...
The best place to start, if you are not all
that familiar with stairs or stair building, is
with the stair
glossary.
No matter how simple this sounds, go ahead and do
it anyway. Learn all the basic terms so that you
can easily explain to your 10-year old what they
mean so he/she, in return, can tell you so you
understand it. This will pay off because you won't
suffer frustration or spend extra time and money
buying new materials to redo your stairs just
because some little word was not understood fully.
Once you can do that, then proceed on to the next
step.
